Stephen McCormick - Board Member

Stephen McCormick is the Director of Governmental Affairs for the Alabama Department of Labor.  As Director of Governmental Affairs, Stephen is the liaison between all local, state, and federal government entities and in charge of all aspects of monitoring the State Legislature for the Department of Labor.  Additional duties include presiding over the Board of Appeals, the state’s highest unemployment appeals tribunal, child labor fine/penalty appeals, unemployment tax appeals and serves as the Chairman of the Department’s Pre-Termination Board.  Stephen was also given the title and responsibility of Deputy Attorney General, by former Attorney General, Luther Strange.

Stephen currently volunteers and serves on the Board of Directors for the Dream Court Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching tennis to children with special needs. He also is a member of the Human Trafficking Statewide Taskforce; set up to combat human and labor trafficking by promoting state wide policies and regulations.  In 2017, Stephen was elected to a position on the Board of the Greater Alabama Market for the March of Dimes organization to help bring awareness to the cause and effects of premature births.  Stephen and his wife Angela are the proud parents of a daughter, Avery McCormick.
